Artist’s Statement: The Raven is a "Spirit Bird" to many indigenous cultures — a messenger of the gods (American Indians) and a creator god called "Raven Father" (Inuits).

 

Artist’s Bio: Tracie Monk is a versatile figurative artist working in a range of media—from high-fire ceramics to alabaster, steel and copper. Her work balances the addictive elements of clay and the subtractive challenges of stone and metal. Recent featured artist shows include "Monster Mania" (2017) and "Tortured Souls" (2016), as well as contributions to the Guild's "Tribute to Balboa Park" (2018).
