Artist’s Statement: Poison: it doesn’t matter how beautiful this mushroom is, don’t eat it.

Artist’s Bio: Ilya Idelchik received his art/sculpture degree from St. Petersburg University in Russia, where he studied classic art and sculpture, focusing on public art, decorative metalwork (bronze, copper, etc.), with a special interest in abstract painting. Prior to his move to the U.S. in 1997, Ilya participated in a variety of art/sculpture projects, including creating artwork for the Moscow Art Museum and Museum of History and Culture, the complete restoration of the museum, as well as designing building and office interiors. His professional career in the U.S. revolves mostly around art design, sculpture, and abstract painting for public and private clients.

Artist’s Bio: Yuriy Akopov, born in the former USSR, began his career as a glass worker while working for an extraordinary artist, Niki de Saint Phalle. While working with Art Mosaic, the company which brought Niki’s creations to life and made glass mosaic sculptures, he acquired priceless skills that he now applies to his own creations. As a talented artist himself, he has refined the techniques and has his own unique application process. He transforms objects into something magical and whimsical.
