Common Name: White Paintbrush Lily
Origin: South Africa
Growth Habit: Fleshy leaves grow from a bulb and emerge in pairs that extend to about 18 inches tall by two feet wide. Flowers grow from 1 to 2 feet tall.
Cultural Requirements: Haemanthus albiflos grow best in moist, well-draining soils and tolerate drought conditions. The Paintbrush Lily thrives in cool filtered sunlight to shady conditions and cold tolerant down to 25 degrees F.
Features/Uses: The striking flowers are accented with elongated white stamens that have bright yellow anthers located at each tip. This is a great choice for shade and drought tolerant plantings and will perform well in containers.
